Loavell Goforth

Just got home from second trip to Birmingham today. Daddy called about 2 a.m and said that Loavell had suffered some kind of spell and they were rushing her to intensive care. I left immediately to go to hospital and stayed till about 9:00 this morning, came home slept a while and then went back this evening. Basically Loavell's breathing and heart stopped during this episode, she came back on her on without having to shock her heart or anything. The Doctor basically said that she is septic (full of infection). They did several scans today to make sure where the infection was coming from and basically were able to rule out some bad things like any internal leakage from her surgery, no absess, no blood clots. He basically said it was probably a bladder infection that had hit the blood stream. Treating her with 3 very strong broad spectrum antibiotics. She is very critical, on ventilator and they are keeping her sedated. Pray that this infection gets cleared up quickly and she can get strong enough to start chemo because there was definitely cancer still there that couldn't be removed during surgery and nothing is being done now to fight the cancer because of all of her other problems. Also, please pray for my Dad, he is so exhausted.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I was thinking about her yesterday and wondering how she was doing. Please keep us updated and let us know if there is anything we can do.

Our family will be praying for yours. We understand how agonizing it is to watch a family member who is suffering. We pray for her recovery. Is there anything we can do to help take some burden off your dad?
