Some of you may already know, Sean McCune, Sandy and Sandi Gibson's son, former members of MVBC, was killed in Iraq on Sunday, January 11, 2009. He is the grandson of June and Jess King and the nephew of Randy and Alice James, members of MVBC. Please be in prayer for this family. I am not sure how long he has been over there but it has not been longer than 2 or 3 months. He lived with his father, in Texas, a majority of his teenage years, but moved to Alabama about 5 or 6 years ago and lived here for about 3 years. He was an active member of the MVBC Student Ministry during his time in Alabama. He had emailed his family on Sunday to confirm that he would be home on the 24th of January for leave. Mom told me that they were planning on having Christmas when he came back home for his leave, the Christmas tree and decorations are still up. The cause of death is under investigation.
Monday P.M. Update:
It will be 7 to 10 days before his boby is in Jasper. He will be at Collins- Burke. June said tonight they have plenty of food so if you are interested in helping out some, check back in a few days.
